An unusual mix of iconic camouflages
Sometimes you want something colorful and a bit weird without giving up that tactical vibe. This hoodie has you covered. It comes with a hood, a classic cut, and a front kangaroo pocket. What makes it stand out is the truly uncommon pattern combination: most of it is 6-Color Desert, while part of the hood and the panel on the kangaroo pocket are done in Desert Night Camo. The result is a striking look – it doesn’t camouflage, but it’s firmly rooted in a military context.
Historic camouflages:
Desert Night Camo
The United States Army used Desert Night Camo (DNC) during the Gulf War. It was designed to help conceal soldiers from the enemy’s night-vision devices by creating streaks and blotches that disrupted the wearer’s outline. As night-vision technology evolved, DNC was phased out.
6-Color Desert
6-Color Desert, commonly nicknamed “chocolate chip,” is a classic camouflage pattern developed by the U.S. military for desert operations. Introduced in the early 1980s, it gained major recognition during the Gulf War. The pattern features a light sand background with broad light green and brown shapes, plus distinctive black-and-white spots meant to mimic rocks and their shadows – hence the “chocolate chip” association.
Both camouflages are no longer in service, but they still draw attention thanks to their unique look.
